Guidelines
Whether you’re an experienced Pilates practitioner or a complete beginner, your safety and enjoyment are our top priority. Therefore, we’ve introduced these policies to ensure that everyone can have a safe and fun Pilates experience. The following guidelines will help you get the most out of every session.
- Turn off all cell phones and pagers to minimize disturbance during class.
- Discontinue eating one hour before class, and bring bottled water.
- Arrive 5-10 minutes early for warmup and apparatus setup.
- Wear comfortable-fitting (not baggy) clothing, such as tights, leotards, shorts, and tank tops. For women, please do not wear men’s t-shirts.
- Men should wear proper tight-fitting underwear or cycle shorts. Shirts should be tucked into shorts.
- Inform the instructor of any changes to your health status or any newly acquired injuries.
- No shoes. We recommend that you participate barefoot or with toe-socks. Personal foot straps are available for purchase.
- Avoid wearing jewelry, such as bracelets and necklaces, which may be caught in the springs.
- Refrain from using lotions and creams, as it increases slipping risk. Additionally, abstain from wearing fragrances.
- Long hair must be tied back. Elastic hair ties are provided for those with long hair.
- Do not practice Pilates under the influence of alcohol or drugs (even prescribed drugs) that may affect your physical abilities or balance.
- Chewing gum is prohibited.
If you are taking a session with us for the first time:
- Expect helpful and specific feedback and corrections on your exercise form.
- Prior to your first session, all necessary paperwork and initial assessments must be completed. Please call in advance to schedule this appointment.
